Radix Quest Quickstart Guide

Get started with the Radix Quest calculator and unit converter.

Step 1 — Choose a Tool

At the top of the application, select one of the available tabs.

TabPurpose
CalculatorMathematical expressions and programmer calculations
ConverterPhysical and digital unit conversions
HelpSyntax reference and usage tips

The Calculator tab is selected initially.

Step 2 — Calculate an Expression

In the Expression field, enter:

2*(3+5)

Click Evaluate or press Enter.

Result:

16

Additional Examples

sqrt(144)

Result:

12
sin(pi/6)

Result:

0.49999999999999994

Trigonometric calculations use floating-point arithmetic, so some results contain small rounding differences.

Step 3 — Work with Number Bases

Enter:

0xFF + 0b1010

The hexadecimal value 0xFF represents 255, and the binary value 0b1010 represents 10.

Result:

265

Select Show all bases from Primary display base to view the result in decimal, hexadecimal, octal, and binary.

Step 4 — Enable Integer Mode

Change Mode from Floating-point to:

Integer / Bitwise

Additional settings become available:

  • Bit width
  • Signed interpretation

The supported bit widths are 8, 16, 32, and 64 bits.

Example

Configure:

Mode: Integer / Bitwise
Bit width: 8-bit
Signed: Enabled
Expression: 255

Decimal result:

-1

The underlying 8-bit pattern is:

1111 1111

Disable Signed to interpret the same bits as:

255

Step 5 — Try a Bitwise Expression

In Integer / Bitwise mode, enter:

0b1010 & 0b1100

Result:

8

Binary representation:

0b1000

Other supported operators include:

|
xor
~
<<
>>

Step 6 — Convert Units

Select the Converter tab.

Choose a category such as Length.

Then configure:

From: m
To: ft
Amount: 10

The converted result is approximately:

32.80839895

Conversions update as the amount or selected units change.

Step 7 — Swap Units

Click Swap to exchange the From and To units.

For example:

From: m
To: ft

becomes:

From: ft
To: m

The amount remains available for recalculation.

Step 8 — Review Calculation History

The Calculator section includes a History panel.

Each successful calculation adds an entry.

Use:

  • ↺ Use to restore an expression.
  • Copy to copy its displayed result.
  • Clear history to remove the session's history.

History is limited to 30 entries and is stored in application memory.

Step 9 — Change the Theme

Use the Theme selector in the upper-right area.

Available choices:

  • Auto (system)
  • Nocturne
  • Aurora Prism
  • Cyber Violet
  • Ocean Glass
  • Terminal Mono
  • Paper Ivory

The selected theme is saved in browser localStorage.

Step 10 — Clear the Calculator

Click Clear to remove the current expression and result.

This does not automatically clear calculation history.

Use Clear history separately when needed.
