Getting Started
This guide explains how to select tools, process input, manage output, and navigate the WebZone interface.
Requirements
WebZone runs in a browser with JavaScript enabled.
Certain features depend on support for browser APIs such as the Clipboard API, Web Crypto API, and local storage. Some tools also rely on externally loaded JavaScript libraries.
Step 1: Select a Tool
Use the tool selector to choose the operation you want to perform.
Each tool presents its own controls, such as text inputs, configuration checkboxes, dropdown selectors, or action buttons.
For example:
| Selected Tool | Available Actions |
|---|---|
| JavaScript Minification | Minify |
| HTML Beautification | Format |
| CSS Validation | Validate |
| Security Scan | Scan |
| JSON Tools | Format, Minify, Validate |
| URL Tools | Encode, Decode |
| Regular Expressions | Run or Live Preview |
| Text Statistics | Analyze |
Step 2: Enter Your Input
Paste the content into the input field.
Depending on the selected tool, this might be:
- HTML markup
- CSS stylesheet rules
- JavaScript source code
- JSON data
- Plain text
- Encoded strings
- Regular expressions
- Color values
Some tools require nonempty input. Others, including the UUID generator, do not require an input value.
Step 3: Configure Options
Certain tools support additional settings.
For example, JavaScript minification includes:
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Mangle | Shorten eligible identifiers |
| Compress | Optimize JavaScript code |
| Drop unused | Remove some unreachable or unused code |
| Remove comments | Control comment retention |
| ECMA | Select the ECMAScript target version |
Settings differ between tools.
Step 4: Run the Operation
Click the relevant action button.
Processing is performed through the tool's JavaScript implementation.
Errors may appear when input is invalid, unsupported, or a required library is unavailable.
Step 5: Review Results
Many tools open a results window containing generated output.
The result viewer may offer:
Copy: Copy the result to the clipboard.
Download: Save the result as a local file.
Wrap: Toggle text wrapping for long lines.
Close: Dismiss the results window.
The Escape key also closes the window.
Example Output Files
| Tool | Output Filename |
|---|---|
| JavaScript Minification | script.min.js |
| HTML Minification | index.min.html |
| CSS Minification | styles.min.css |
| HTML Beautification | index.formatted.html |
| CSS Beautification | styles.formatted.css |
| JSON Formatting | data.formatted.json |
| Base64 Decoding | decoded.txt |
Appearance Settings
WebZone supports Warm and Cold themes.
Switch themes using the application's appearance controls. Where local storage is available, the selected theme is retained between visits.
Keyboard Controls
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Escape | Close the result viewer |
| Ctrl + Alt + Backspace | Trigger the Purge Data confirmation |
The purge shortcut uses Control rather than Command as written in the supplied JavaScript implementation.
Common Problems
No Result Appears
Confirm that the required input has been entered and that the chosen operation is appropriate for the supplied content.
A Library Fails to Load
Reload the page and verify that your connection or browser configuration is not blocking required external scripts.
Copy Does Not Work
Clipboard operations may be restricted by your browser. Use the Download action where supported.
Output Is Unexpected
Check the configuration options and validate the original input before relying on the result.
