Gradient Studio

Gradient Studio allows designers and developers to create two-color CSS gradients through a visual editor. It supports linear, radial, and conic gradient types.

Getting Started

  1. Open Gradients.
  2. Enter two HEX colors.
  3. Select the gradient type.
  4. Adjust the angle and color-stop positions.
  5. Review the live preview.
  6. Click Copy CSS to copy the generated declaration.

Gradient Controls

ControlDescriptionDefault
Color 1First gradient color#3B82F6
Color 2Second gradient color#22D3EE
TypeLinear, Radial, or ConicLinear
RotationGradient angle in degrees45
C1 %First color-stop position0
C2 %Second color-stop position100

Linear Gradients

A linear gradient blends colors along a line.

Example

background: linear-gradient(
  45deg,
  #3b82f6 0%,
  #22d3ee 100%
);

Angle

Changing the angle rotates the direction of the gradient.

Common examples:

AngleGeneral Direction
0°Upward
90°Rightward
180°Downward
270°Leftward

CSS gradient angles define the direction of increasing color-stop position.

Radial Gradients

A radial gradient distributes colors outward from a central area.

Example

background: radial-gradient(
  circle,
  #3b82f6 0%,
  #22d3ee 100%
);

The supplied implementation uses circular radial gradients.

The rotation field is not used when producing radial-gradient CSS.

Conic Gradients

Conic gradients distribute colors around a center point.

Example

background: conic-gradient(
  from 45deg,
  #3b82f6 0%,
  #22d3ee 100%
);

Conic gradients are useful for:

  • Color-wheel effects
  • Decorative backgrounds
  • Circular visual elements
  • Abstract interface graphics

Color-Stop Positions

The position controls define where each selected color appears within the gradient.

For example:

background: linear-gradient(
  45deg,
  #3b82f6 20%,
  #22d3ee 80%
);

Changing the stops can shift the transition area.

The application uses the entered percentage values directly in the CSS expression.

Live Preview

The gradient preview updates when the color values, type, angle, or stop positions change.

You can also click Apply to refresh the preview.

Random Colors

Click Random to generate two new HEX colors.

The preview updates with the new combination.

This provides a quick way to explore unfamiliar color combinations.

Gradient Presets

Gradient Studio includes predefined two-color combinations.

Select a preset to load its colors and associated rotation.

Presets provide starting points for creating custom backgrounds.

Copy CSS

Click Copy CSS to copy a complete background declaration.

Example:

background: linear-gradient(45deg, #3b82f6 0%, #22d3ee 100%);

Paste the declaration into your stylesheet or an HTML style rule.

Example Usage

.hero {
  min-height: 320px;
  border-radius: 16px;
  background: linear-gradient(
    135deg,
    #6a00f4 0%,
    #00f5ff 100%
  );
}

Tips

  • Use strongly contrasting colors for vibrant gradients.
  • Use nearby hues for smoother visual transitions.
  • Experiment with color-stop positions.
  • Review text contrast when placing content over gradients.
  • Test the generated CSS across your target browsers.

Limitations

Gradient Studio generates two-color CSS gradients.

The supplied implementation does not include:

  • Multi-stop gradient editing beyond the two configured colors
  • Dedicated gradient image downloading
  • Gradient animation timeline controls
  • Mesh-gradient generation

Tip: Combine Gradient Studio with Color Lab to create gradients using colors from an existing brand palette.
