Getting Started with VerAI
Verification AI (VerAI) provides several security investigation capabilities through a browser-based interface. This guide explains how to submit information for analysis and interpret the resulting reports.
Available Analysis Types
The application supports five primary submission types.
| Type | Input | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Website | URL or hostname | Investigate website security and reputation |
| File | Uploaded file | Retrieve or request a VirusTotal report |
| Phone | US phone number | Validate numbering information |
| Email address | Inspect mail domain characteristics | |
| IP Address | IPv4 address | Investigate network reputation and metadata |
Step 1: Choose What to Analyze
Open VerAI and provide the relevant input in the analysis form.
Enter one resource to investigate at a time for the clearest results.
Step 2: Submit the Input
VerAI processes a submitted form using a server-side Flask application.
Depending on the input, it may perform DNS queries, retrieve external website information, or contact third-party intelligence providers.

Step 3: Review the Results
VerAI renders the analysis through a results page.
The available fields depend on the selected analysis type.
Examples include:
- Website security headers
- Certificate details
- DNS records
- AI security observations
- File reputation data
- Phone validation results
- Email MX records
- IP intelligence classifications
Some checks may fail independently of others.
Input Processing Priority
The supplied application processes inputs in the following order:
- Website URL
- Uploaded file
- Phone number
- Email address
- IP address
If multiple inputs are provided in the same submission, only the first populated input in this order is processed.
For predictable results, submit one input at a time.
Understanding Result Types
Technical Observations
Technical checks return information obtained through protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TLS, and WHOIS.
These are observations of accessible configuration or metadata.
Reputation Intelligence
Third-party services may classify a URL, file, or IP address based on their available threat data.
Such classifications can change over time.
AI Assessments
AI-generated observations may identify possible warning signs, but they are not independently verified findings.
Errors and Unavailable Results
Some checks can return errors due to:
- Network timeouts
- DNS failures
- Missing information
- Unsupported input
- External provider restrictions
- Rate limiting
- Service outages
An unavailable result should not be interpreted as a passing security check.
Privacy Considerations
Unlike a fully client-side utility, VerAI performs checks on its server and calls external services.
Depending on the operation, submitted information may be sent to:
- Website and domain infrastructure
- DNS resolvers
- WHOIS services
- AI providers
- Threat intelligence services
- VirusTotal
- IP geolocation providers
Do not submit sensitive information unless its disclosure to the relevant services is acceptable.
Responsible Usage
Use VerAI to investigate systems and resources that you are authorized to assess.
Avoid treating preliminary intelligence as conclusive evidence of malicious behavior.
